Balneario 6 (Ballermann 6) is without any doubt the most famous balneário in Mallorca. It was the subject of a comedy film in 1997 and international TVs often come here to make reportages.
It is well known among the German public who usually gather here but each year it is becoming more international having tourists from all over the world but mainly from Holland, Switzerland, Belgium, Italy, Russia, England, Austria and the United States. The general audience and mentality has also been changing over the last few years. It is changing from party-makers to responsible young adults, couples and families who cohabit in harmony.
The term Ballermann is synonymous with a certain party mentality and irresponsible alcohol consumption, however the government of Mallorca and private companies like Palma Beach try to change this image given to Playa de Palma. Since 2006 there is a limitation of 64db for outside music, in 2014 the government introduced a series of measures to maintain order, cleanliness and safety in the region, one of which is the prohibition on the sale of alcoholic beverages in buckets (bucket drinking).
In 2017 Balneário 6 was renovated, part of the plan to revitalize the balneários of Playa de Palma, and since then it has been called Beach Club Six with modern decor and new sunbeds and parasols.
